San Jose dB 2nd Runner-up in Binirayan Fest 2012


The Municipality of San Jose de Buenavista was awarded as 2nd Runner-up in Binirayan Festival 2012.

The Municipality garnered a total of 179 points from participation and winning in activities and contests during the festival.


As 2nd Runner-up, the Municipality will receive P500,000.00 worth of project from the provincial government.

Aside from this award, the town also won:

  • First runner-up in the Malay-Ati Competition - represented by Tribu Mandaragat with participants mostly from Antique National School
  • First runner-up in the Search for Lin-ay kang Antique - represented by Ms. Dougherty A. Quiroga
  • "Hakot" award (Biggest Herd with more more than 150 participants, Most Heterogeneous group, Most Ati, Most Colorful, Most Jolly, Best in Endurance) in the Karsadyahan with contingent composed of day Care teachers, Sangguniang Kabataan Chairmen, Barangay Nutrition Scholars(BNS)/ BSPOs and Tribu Mandaragat 
  • Third Place in the Christmas Tree Contest
 

Grand champion is the Municipality of Tibiao with 187 point and the Municipality of Laua-an was hailed as first runner-up with 182 points.

San Jose dB is again Admin Governance Champ

San Jose de Buenavista was hailed as top performing local government unit (1st to 3rd class category)  for administrative governance in the Regional Search for Excellence in Governance Award.


Regional Search for Excellence in Governance Award is given by the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) - Region VI to recognize the best managed local governments in the region that demonstrate best practices, achievements and innovations in administration, social services, economic development, environmental management and transparency.

The Municipality was also a runner-up for the Best in Environmental Management.

Aside from plaque the LGU also received P10,000.00 cash prize for Excellence in Administrative Governance.
